Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Finland in Budapest. The aim of this site is twofold: to help you find the information you need about Finlandand to describe the work that we do in the Finnish Embassy in Hungary.
The connections between two countries have always been close where our distant language relationship has given a special additional value. More than 50 friendship associations throughout the country do invaluable work to promote Finland in Hungary. Finnish language can be learnt in four universities in Hungary. Many Hungarian cities have twin-cities and many Lutheran congregations have twin congregations in Finland.
Now, our two countries are partners in the EU, and our relationship has especially become a partnership of common European values and challenges. This Embassy's objectives to ensure that the links between us are even more expanded and developed further.
Finnagora, the Culture and Science Institute of Finland is located in the same beautiful building as the Embassy on the Gellért mountain. At the Embassy building there is a library that is open for public, during the weekend it hosts the Finnish School. There are several different kinds of events open to public regularly. We truly are a Finnish House in Budapest!
